We would like to recognise the heroic actions of Delwyn Mills and Ashley Price, two of our fantastic Customer Pre-Enablement technicians on the VMO2 Morpheus contract, for their quick thinking after coming to the rescue of a man who had collapsed into a ditch in Weston-Super-Mare.
The two operatives were working nearby in a customer’s garden, when they were alerted to the individual, who had fallen into the ditch after becoming unwell while riding his bike. They immediately attended to the person, helping to pull him out of the ditch, moving the bike off him, and moving him to safety.
The pair remained calm, using their knowledge of first aid from our mandatory first aid training, to make sure the man was okay. They then stayed with him until he was taken to Weston General Hospital.
Fortunately, after spending a few hours in hospital the man was thankfully able to return home.
Paul Seaman, Area Manager at Avonline Networks, said: “Across Avonline, we pride ourselves on ensuring the safety of our people and the public is our number one priority. A huge thank you to Delwyn and Ashley, for their quick thinking , and we are delighted to hear that the gentleman is doing well.”
At M Group Services, as part of our commitment to ‘It Starts with Me’, our behavioural safety initiative, we prioritise safety, making sure we look after our people, the public and the communities in which we work.
Well done to Delwyn and Ashley for your heroic actions!
